Limited Release of Kodo Costume Upcycled Goods at EC 2024
Kodo members wear hanten (traditional worker’s coats) as part of their main stage costume, which they treat with the utmost care. But after a certain amount of wear, these costumes need to be replaced with new ones. The hanten fabric is sturdy and durable, and Kodo has been looking for ways to reuse the fabric. We are excited to announce that Kodo has decided to make some of its retired costumes into unique bags and pouches, which will be available exclusively at EC! Kodo performer Tomoe Homma has designed and made 15 one-of-a-kind items from Kodo’s hanten fabric. During EC 2024, all 15 items will be sold by lottery. (A few items each day) A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake relief efforts.
